The official Iqabl day is celebrated on November 9th - the date when Iqbal was born.

April 21st was the day, he departed from this world.

We do not "celebrate" it. We Observe such days.

Thanks to Pakfuse forums for keeping that in mind.

Iqbal is one of the most important personalities related to our homeland Pakistan, even though he could not become the citizen of the same country as he died in 1938 before Pakistan's creation but he was a pakistani because he chose the land to live and die which was to become Pakistan.

May Iqbal's name, work and message live forever and may we understand and act upon his message. He himself said:

Iqbal ka pegham hay, Islam ka pegham
Islam ka pegham zamanay ko suna do

Nice Thoughts Shoq...

We should reflect upon the vision of Iqbal more on this day than playing games in his name...

I am making this thread sticky for a while...

Well, he died before the creation of Pakistan; so technically he was not a citizen of Pakistan but he is a Pakistani in all sense. That's what I believe in.

Because he was the first and only person who suggested the idea of Pakistan based on Two-nations theory. He is called "Thinker of Pakistan" and he was born, died and is buried in the land which is in Pakistan.
