Economic pain to be ‘worst for 60 years’

The world economy will this year suffer its worst performance for more than 60 years with a serious risk that 50m people will lose their jobs, international organisations warned on Wednesday.

The warnings came as the Federal Reserve expressed fresh concern about deflation, noting that the US economy had “weakened further” since its last policy meeting in December.

suffice to say, economists are predicting this is the worst year including the depression. some are predicting this as the armageddon year, a year where the dollar value will fall so badly that north america, canada and mexico will form a union, burn the dollar and release a new currency by the name of "amero" - regulated by north american union (nau - u.s., canada & mexico). there was already a talk of amero 2-3 years ago, but seeing it in action may not be too far.

the numbers have started to pile up week after week.

Quote:
US jobless claims top 600,000

The number of US workers claiming unemployment benefits for the first time surpassed 600,000 last week, reaching a new 26-year high as companies continued cutting workers.

Initial jobless claims reached 626,000 in the week ending January 31, up from 591,000 the week before, labour department figures showed. The results pointed to further job losses in February and undercut an earlier report from the ADP Employer Services survey signalling that the deterioration in the labour market began to slow.
