I have worked as customer service rep before.. and the company I was in they had a very good system.
If all of the reps were busy, and someone has been holding on the phone for more than 15 mins, there was a separate phone that would ring after 15 mins of holding, and there was no exception as someone had to answer that..! this way the customer would be getting the reply from teh company in any way. I thought that was a pretty good idea.
It was a small company about total employess of about 15.. and the CEO himself would sit with us and answer calls when it was busy..
Thats what I call motivation..!
But yes.. sometimes u have to wait too long to just hear, the system drop your call.!!
I had one where I had to wait about 1 hr.. (I put it on speaker and kept doing my work) and after the hr, the line dropped.!
That just made me so mad, I didnt call them again, and disconnected the service never to go to them again..!
