People living in Pakistan elect leaders based on their speeches. They give their vote to someone who can lie about being passionate for Pakistan while that person or anyone else for that matter who is running for the president, majority of these people are thieves by nature. Their idea of presiding over citizens depends upon convincing people who are living in the country that their particular government is number one. Sadly and needlessly, their speeches go as far back as quoting from Hadiths about examples of Khalifas who ruled over people. They compare themselves to the true and pious Muslim leaders, when in comparison, they cannot fill their own shoes, let alone trying to fill someone else's shoes. These kinds of politicians know where the problem areas are but they do nothing to protect the citizens from it. In fact, they sugarcoat the issues with their speeches and make them appear the way they want the situation to be, but it does not hide the fact that they are incompetent and power-hungry.

Not everyone is cut from the same cloth. There are good politicians in the mix who truly want the country to stand and deliver. What do Pakistani people look for in the right leader? How do Pakistani people arm themselves with the knowledge and select politicians? What skills/experience/education do you see in a person before making a decision to elect him/her?

Also, besides these, discuss what some of the roles and responsibilities of a leader should be? All of you are invited to join in the discussion.

its a long process, bad politicians wont vanish overnight and good politicians wont emerge out of nowhere in a blink of an eye.it all depends how long it takes us the awaam to learn from our mistakes.

Next time in election dont vote for the candidate if you are not satisfied with his/her current term.i know another chor will get elected instead of this chor
But dont forget to vote this chor out in next elections ...rinse and repeat till desired results......till all the gandee machlian are filterd out of the system for good.
portfolios should be distributed on merti or you will have a mochi as your defence minister

hi . how would you eliminate bad politicians ? is there a clear process or a path which the public can take to determine who is worthy enough to run the country ? what about a few good politicians and those men who are true to their country and serve what is best for the country with their views with no political agenda behind them ? every political party has an agenda . they want more money , more power , and total control of the citizens through taxes . have you recently noticed that the president ' s house have no pictures of quaid e azam and instead , there are pictures of his political party ? do you realize that there are bilawal ' s photos inside the president ' s house but no room was given to the leader of the nation ?

middle class is shrinking by the minute , do they really have any power left besides voting and hoping that their votes count and the process is legitimate ? does the middle class have any voice ? it ' s only the upper class which can do anything , and over half of them are crooks by nature , because they control the country ' s wealth and power .

behind the scenes , the process is run by washington . as long as america would want someone to run pakistan , they would win the election and re - election regardless of the votes . pervaiz musharraf had 10 billion dollars to spend over a period of 5 years , what did pakistani people get in return ? more air strikes , more drone attacks , more civilian casualties ? zardari is headed the same way and is taking out taxes from the pockets of people in his new budget .

other than writing in these forums , no one is going to save pakistan which is backed by washington government . as long as we have our keyboards , we can write about it as much as we want to write .
