Hmmm, students should have uniforms not only in schools, but also in colleges if not in universities..so that students can concentrate more on their studies..when students wear colour dresses, most of the times they give more concentration on their dresses and their other classmates dresses and may give less concentration on their studies, and they will be talking about dresses most of the times..

There are both sides to it, as a different point of view is seen expressed in this thread.

Some uniforms require to be changed every year, at the start of the school year. New shoes, new uniform, it becomes too much if this continues every year. As opposed to wearing normal clothes in school, yes it attracts attention to the clothes, but that goes alongwith the pursuing of your education. A lot of school systems do not place heavy emphasis on the clothes as long as they are within acceptable limits. With uniforms, there can always be uniformity and no hassle of who is wearing what. Usually a single choice is preferred by people who are groomed to their environment. That is the only available choice they get. With uniforms, you do not get freedom and without uniforms, you lose a way to express yourself.

Uniform shows discipline and should be for both students and teachers.
