Paki people and their obsession with Indian tv channels...samjh nahen ata kiun akal ko haath nahen daltay
I called all the available cable providers in my area to see which one offers most Pakistani channels, in the end the channel list was almost the same +- few channels(majority of Indian channels). None of them offers all the Pakistani channels, and the Pakistani channels that are available won’t stay there for long.i like city42 and starlite TV.City42 is a channel all about Lahore.Starlite Tv shows English movies in English,English movies dubbed in urdu (not hindi but urdu)English movies dubbed in punjagi (my fav)
There are 5 channels by the cable operator and he plays Indian movies on all 5 of em then there is a long list of Zee this, Zee that, Zee blah, zee bleeh waghaira waghaira
Couple of weeks back I was talking to the owner of City42.According to him people don’t like City42, when asked what could be the reason shah jee replied its simple because we don’t show dance gana latkay jhatkay and bayhoudgi that’s why our channel is not popular.Jab koi stage drama daikhnay lago tau foran sai pahlay mujra shuru hoo jata hai....

bhai seedhi seedhi baat hai ke logoon main baygharati bus gaye hai.. jab tak subha subha indian channels par "AATRI BHAJAN" nahin sun letay to subha nahin hoti or phir raat ko drama wo bhi larayee jhagray say bharpoor dekh na lain to neend nahin aati.. sub ka yahi haal hai... or phir pakistani channels bhi kam nahin.. un ko dosroon ko follow karnay ka bohat he zayada shoq hai.. international market main fashion aya nahin or pakistan main aa gaya channels par.. or uper say aisay shows "living on the edge" nalat hai aisay shows par.. cable walooon ka kya kasoor wo to baycharay wohi kar rahay hain jo maang hai.. aik din ayee gaa kay wo sirf aik channel khol dain kay mujra ka punjabi audience kay liye or karachi waloon kay wannabes fashion shows n naach gaana!

jo such hai wo such hai.. ab wo cable waloon ka ho ya dekhnay waloon ka!

I blame it on parents. How come they allow their kids to watch all that crap. Its a demand-oriented market - if people dont watch, cable operators won't play. Simple is that.

baat yeh hai kay ... cable companies claims that they offer 100 channels,and i say ok fine 100 channels...tau phir puray Pakistani channel bhee dikhao aur in baki kay channels pay indian programming dikhao.i agree pakistani channels bhee koi itnay paak nahen hootay,wohi siyasi dramay.One more thing i have heard not sure please confirm this or correct me if i am wrong.... in india thy dont show any pakistani channels.
karachite bhai jaan there channels that are totallyy dedicated for mujras,and Mexx cable company use to have their own rated channel(such channels are cable company's own channels) since i am dont use their service anymore i dont know if they still do that.navi generation ka yeh haal hai kay woh eik pura fiqra bhee urdu main nahen bool saktay beech main hindi ka tarka zarror lagatay hain.

You people might remember...when ever debating on cartain tv program some people say if u dont like it change the channel,magar yahan tau yeh haal hai kay eik channel say bhag kay dusray channel pay jao tau wahan iss say bhee bura haal hai.

contents are self explanatory aur situations like these have been, what we call in urdu Lamha-e-Fikeriya, for the nation...

pata naheeN bachpann say kitnay lamhaat-e-fikeriya dekh rahaa hooN aur kitni hee baar mulk tabaahi kay dahaanay par pahunch gayaa hai.......... yeh tau Allah hee hai jo issay chalaa rahaa hai...

The problem is, PK nation is divided into 2 categories right now...

1. people who really care for Pk and they believe in values etc. Now this category is worried about security issues. Every day there is a blast, theres a war in northern areas etc. We don't have time to think about anything else.
2. This category is hopeless. Unfortunately the number of these people is going up. so no hope there....

People who care, have no time to even think about long-term plans for Pakistan. Nobody talks about this cultural attack and how to stop it. Even though our Information Minister needs to work on it and form a solid plan on censorship etc but ofcourse our govt comes under category 2.....
I wish newspapers and magazines write about it. but most of them publish all kinda crap too.
So its all up to the individuals - what they let their kids watch on tv and what they watch themselves...

There was soo much shoor sharab after mumbai attacks to ban indian channels but...kia hua...kuch bhee nahen,now i can also enjoy NDTV

masla yea hai k even Pakistani channels are showing crap these days. No standard... jaahil auchay log.
I think first PK channels need to have a complete overhaul.

This is an imp project. Maybe we should talk about it, on how to raise awareness in public.

I think we should discuss this topic seriously and come up with different ideas to do something about it. There're 2 issues...
1. indian channel attack
2. our own channels. There are good programs but most programs have no standard, no censorship - nothing.

So how can we help overhaul the media and develop some basic awareness among people before its too late. How can we help?

i have couple of suggestions

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority should make a list of channels,list should have all the Pakistani channels atleast,and make it mandatory for all the cable operators to atleast show these channels and should have extra fee for showing indian,arabic,english channels.

PEMRA should put limit on cable operator's channels.
Channel operators should provide their users with list of channels on paper,and viewers should make sure their cable company is showing PEMRA approved channels.
This plug and play cable system need to go,and cable box's should be used with proper parentl controls.
