Ireland is the country most severely hit by recession in the Eurozone. A job is lost every 5 minutes in the country.

I guess i have made the right decision , when i left Ireland , couple of months ago...

Like back in our college days , we didn't even bother about such jobs , like you can move jobs like these within weeks ...

I was talking to my friend back in dublin , who is the store manager of this place and he told me that almost 2,000 people from all circles of life , applied for this job

So tell us , how recession is hitting your place ?

In my region, the unemployment is almost 13-15% officially. They get the figure from Social Security Dept. But in reality it is much higher considering the fact that a lot of people don't get unemployment benefits.

There were about 500 openings for summer jobs at a baseball stadium. More than 7000 people showed up.

Other than grocery stores & some fastfood places, everything is going down.
People aren't going to the restaurants but ofcourse they've to eat so they're cooking at home or going to Mcdonald sorta places.

Healthcare is another stable industry but it depends on the exact field.

it pretty bad all over the world...

lately, news from dubai has been that most of the construction projects are dropped... people left their new financed cars on the airport while fleeing from the country with the family because of recession and job lost....

in USA, things are not looking good as well.... People who have jobs should thank God for their jobs every second because it is going to be extremely rough for them if they lose their job anytime... Khaakam ba'deh'n !!

Its getting a little better. Housing prices have gone up in some areas. In my city its up about 5% now.
Stock market has been doing better for about 2 months now.

But employment situation will take atleast a year before we will see the results.

House prices are going down every where , which is a good thing in a long run .

Time to buy a property , if you can afford re-payments .

I took advantage about 7-8 months ago. I couldnt even imagine losing my job at that time.

Actually prices are going up a little now. The reason is, lay offs have gone down now. People who're still employed, would most probably will be able to keep their jobs. so now they have shown some confidence in the housing market.

A lot of people have actually created job sites...
As for other projects, now how would an unemployed person arrange investment ..... keeping in mind, the savings are being used for daily household expenses & payments etc.

by other projects , i mean offer professional trainings , in time of recession , more people enroll in university courses and engage themselves into professional trainings ..

There is always a niche in market , ma child !

and starting a small training business , doesn't cost you much !

like we are in process of starting a Non profit org for Pakistani project managers ( PMOP , project managers of pakistan)

and The goal of the Project Managers of Pakistan (PMOP) is to locate, collect, preserve , interpret and unlock the potential of Pakistani project managers with accuracy, integrity, and liveliness. In doing so, Pakistani project managers will have an identifiable position in Project management’s present, and future.

There is always something to do .... if not then it goes back to my signature

if you feel you have done your job , played your tune , dance'd on your song .. then why wait ... do suicide and leave this ugly world ...

atleast thats what I gona do , if i feel all done in this life , i dont like waiting

and I totally agree with you.

Getting these certifications is actually time well spent. Enrolling in schools is a good idea too.

but dealing with unemployment is not easy. Starting a small business still costs you some money (if not much) - if you've mortgage payment, other expenses etc. and you aren't sure how long will this situation remain. You'll think a thousand times before taking even taking this much risk.

A lot of things depend on each individuals own situation. A lot of us are capable of doing great things and are ready & willing to take challenges.... but sometimes we just can't.

Only cowards or those not having faith commit suicide.

Cowards are the one who can not face the ugliness of this world, bravely.

Non-faithfuls are one who ignore the commands of their Lord and His prophet stating that suiciders will remain in the hell-fire for eternity; even the janazah prayer is not prayed over suiciders...
