Firefox, although built on top of IE API, showed immense resistence and security layers agains spywares from its arrival.... The cons for firefox is really to set it up so things like Jscript and DHTML are actually run on the browser.... IE has those things set to go by default... but then, spywares are mostly spread by scripts run on the client's side hence, the justification why firefox has been good in sheilding the boxes from these threats... If things are set up properly, they both are fine.... Firefox actually have some cool add-ons to it which IE lacks, so if you are into those catchy Add-ons, you might wanna abandon IE | | ShaheeN Kaa JahaaN aur! :-) PakFuse was NOT created in a single day. | Feb 6th, 2009, 04:53 am | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 7th, 1977 - 06:00 am Posts: 1,792 | Apart from the technical configurations which AQ Bhai mentioned, Firefox all the way. Daily gadgets can be downloaded and installed right into the browser, applications such as AccuWeather, ClipMarks and so much more. There are skins available for it which makes it appealing. If I remember right, Firefox was also the first major browser to incorporate the capability of "multi-tabbing", a footstep which IE later followed. | | | Feb 21st, 2009, 02:10 pm | #4 (permalink) | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 18th, 2009 - 02:33 pm Posts: 8,559 | pakfuse loads quicker on mozilla. I have IE, FFox, opera, safari and chrome. And I use IE only for one task. Other than that I avoid it like a plague now. | | Fight not monsters lest you become one. IE -- simply sucks..!! WHY... because it is crappy and unsecure. Newer versions 7 and 8 are a bit better, but still are crappy. if there are errors, its hard to pinpoint where the problem lies. FFox -- Simple ROCKS..!! why.. cause it has add-ons, can be customized, has more control like scripting vs no scripting, blocks those stupid ads which I HATE the most and is pretty fast once loaded. the initial load time is sometimes longer (thats becuase i have many addons.. ) Chrome -- This one is definately the FASTEST out there that I have tried.. BUT.. it has limitations (for now.. ?) i will not move from FF that easily Chrome can pose a good challenge to FF in the coming years.. The biggest thing I hate about Google is the privacy policy..!! Remember this .. NOTHING IS FREE..!! (I write in caps not to yell, but to emphasize).. Safari -- a very cool and slick browser.. has its issues with Windows, but nonetheless, for MAC lovers, thats the best option.. (I aint a MAC-ee).. Opera -- like Opera Windfrey..? lol.. no.. this browser has the coolest tricks and features.. but unfortunately is lacking support... it is wasnt FF, i would be on Opera.. and TABBED browsing was started from Opera..!! So.. the Winnerr.rrrrr... is .. FIREFOX..!! the newer version.. 4.0 is in the makes.. and that promises speed and integrity..! cant wait.. adios..! | | It's hard to find a friend who's...... 100% Funky, 100% Generous, 100% Loving,100% Talented, & 100% Sweet so...... don't lose me, okay! | Nov 20th, 2009, 09:24 pm | #14 (permalink) | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 18th, 2009 - 02:33 pm Posts: 8,559 | FF all the way !!! | | | Nov 25th, 2009, 04:52 am | #15 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 22nd, 2009 - 11:46 pm Location: Houston, TX Posts: 90 | What other little know browsers are there? | | | Nov 26th, 2009, 10:15 pm | #16 (permalink) | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 18th, 2009 - 02:33 pm Posts: 8,559 | hmm | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT.
