I heard Google is releasing their own operating system next year in 2010 called Google Chrome Operating System. It is for people who have Netbooks.

What are some of the advantages of having a Netbook?

Netbook is mainly for those people who have their life online and not much data held locally.

With the email capacities even increasing and the browser wars at their peak the whole IT industry is going to towards online/cloud computing, central storage. Laptops are shrinking and getting smaller, everyone will have internet access everywhere and hence carrying data locally will become less and less important. Why hold on to something when you can lose it easily? Storing it online will give you more security again losing it due to hardware failure.
