Hey Guys.

I need some help from Uk Fusers. I had a laptop a week ago but for the past 3 months it was giving me problems, even to the extent that the hard drive blew. so i returned it to the place i bought it from and got my full money back, so

Now i have 430 Pounds which i wana / i can afford upto, to buy a new laptop.
What i need help with is, what would you ppl suugest that i get, and the specifications or if anyone knws any place where i can get a good deal within my affordable price.

I had Sony Vaio, but i wasnt too pleased with it. someone suugested that HP's are good to go for

Although i also know a few ppl who've had custom made Dell Laptops but i imagine that getting it custom made wud go over top my affordable price? but if it dont then, what specification would you suggest to get it, and where and how.

I really appreciate your help, what are we britts for, United, so come one help me

Thank You.

I have been checking this following out, what do u think?
HP G60-215EM Notebook PC (NG444EA) specifications - HP Home & Home Office products

and The above results also, saved me some more money to 409 from 429 at Tesco's. Is it still worth it if i go for it.

Although Hp is one the laptops , i have ! but on any given day am a dell user !

If you aint a power user , don't play games, edit videos, or do any heavy graphics editing. And going to use this yoke for just browsing the web, office, and e-mail. Its should suffice

The most annyoing thing about , from my POV is , AMD underperfomring processor. That was definitely the first thing you going to notice.

Overall, its a great machine, just heed the warnings, the processor is weak, and will not leave you impressed.

And from the standpoint of performance per watt of power consumed, the Core 2 Duo may look better too, as all processors are rated at a maximum of 65 W, while AMD still has 89 W models. The Core 2 Duo, though, doesn't carry an integrated DDR2 memory controller, which is an integral part of every AMD64 processor and thus increases their power consumption.

But the AMD underperforming has now given me doubts cos i had a toshiba - AMD few years back, i thought i was normal for it not performing as it shud, now i know, so thanx..

yehh i had a sony vaio, dual core, it was pretty good.

Anyways, thanx for the advice, and since you have dell. what could you suggest a suitable Dell Model within my price range of 430?

Very Well appriciated
