Three of them are which you mentioned, in which practical philosophy plays a big part. They are quick to inform you of their life's experiences and the lessons. The subject of raising morality and ethics in this subject is also one of many, but little touched. Rationally, yes I would tend towards the opinion that people compare experiences and think alternative solutions to the events from the past, "had this been done, the outcome would be different".
There are so many schools of thought that it is harder to grasp the concept when one group differs from the other, but they all belong under the umbrella of academic discipline. True philosophers or people who study devotedly can process the information several ways, through their knowledge and the books which they have read, and they can look at an event wearing multiple hats, which belong to different schools of thought.
