The common goal of Philosophy forum is no other than what its description says. So, we would like intellectually stimulating and sophisticated discussions, in this forum.


It's a quest of knowledge and a life constructive one, as thoughtful and well read minds delve on topics of our day or times past before, as we unpack the interesting philosophical dilemmas or share our perspectives for reaching their solutions.

Life is defined by a "reason". For every thing, good or bad, there is not always a balance, but a reason attached to it. Reason is what we must find, discover, extract, see, feel. Reason gives life a meaning. In the heat of a moment, you may not see the logic right away but when tensions are calmed a little, clouds begin to fade away and sunshine comes in.

Another practical value of philosophy is by an "art", how much quality each person has within himself/herself. Everyone is beautiful in their nature, even if you come across something inhumane done by human(s) that would wretched your mind. Being an artist does not stop at expressing your likeness for paintings hanging in a museum, it is about expressing what you want out of life.

One of the practical values of life is also a "reality check". Being real, in and around you, can help you draw your future more realistically. You are only as much in command of your future as you are of your 'present' (which is the future of your past).

value of art and reason cannot ever be undermined.
realism is absolutely necesary for even the vision of the next real object or world to be developed. what would you say that to the effect of philosophical pause? when and why does someone undergo this state, before the conjectures begin to make sense?

How would you define philosophical pause, I am interested in your views.

If there is too much reasoning for a simple solution, then it clouds the judgment. Too much reasoning or fighting within own self of trying to reach a certain conclusion or more than one conclusion is, analytical and unhealthy.

There are always speculations, right? Conjectures are a part and parcel of it but if reasons are strong enough, the sspeculations 'tend to' go away (it is hard for them to completely disappear if the reason is not strong enough to believe in).

Theoritically, every subject matter in our life can be related to philosophy.

I am not very much into philosophy or ever actually read/understood the fine prints of what philosophy is about, how to define it, what thought processes are considered philosophical (except that a bit of Islamic Philosophy that I read in Iqbal's poetry) so correct me if I am wrong Philosophy is much about "being Literal" than "being metaphoric"... or is it otherway around?

Psychology related issues are often looked by philosophers and explained in their own terms. Therefore, there are philosophical explanations available on psychological issues. Kind of related. Very good question
