Shoaib Akhtar - A waste of space in Category A

That's right. I said it. Hang me if you want to.

What a waste of space Shoaib Akhtar has proved out to be, and disappointingly, the medium-pacer has been put in Category A. Medium-pacer, because the last time I saw him, his effort balls were in 144-145. Three years ago this guy was hurling bouncers at Australians and taking wickets on flat tracks.

Cut to the chase, today he has been put in Category A and not too long ago, PCB disclosed some private information - Shoaib has genital viral warts. I mean, I think that even CA would have protected someone like Andrew Symonds from being humiliated like that. But PCB, having put Shoaib in Category A, disclosed the real reason. Here, Shoaib says he could have sued PCB for revealing the information, and why not just go ahead and sue PCB? I mean, did PCB do the right thing here? I don't believe they did, they have a right to protect their employees. Think back to Jesse Ryder's alcohol situation, Flintoff's pedalo incident, these incidents are public because they happened in public. Shoaib's case is not for me and you to know. I agree with Shoaib, sue PCB over it.

More recently, Shoaib missed the fitness camp for Sri Lanka ODIs. Why, well, mother's ill. Could be a legitimate reason, and turns out, he is not picked up for the ODIs either. But the report says that he is in contention for CT squad. Why bother? Someone else may get ill. I mean, heck I can get ill and Shoaib could say that he was looking after me.

Bottom line, the players in category A are sharing a space with someone who should rather be on a retainer contract, maybe not even that. With Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, and Younis Khan, I do not 'get' PCB.

waisay yes.. shoaib ko kuch aata bhi nahee.. 4 overs kara keh baith jata hai.. uski phooonk khatab ho gayee hai and he is a waste now..!! as DB mentioned..!!

but yes.. i would agree to sue PCB for the news on his medical condition..!! now he has to become the supporter for Warts.. no matter whereever they are.. just like other problems like cancer, or phobias.. etc..!

Kangree,Six Million, Kangree Pehelwaan, Tinka, etc..
