Frankly, the Urdu commentary in the domestic cricket has gone from worst to extremely worst. I manag to sit a few minutes while having breakfast and this is what I have to sit and get tortured listening to.

Scene 1

Commentator 1: Buhat garmi hai, buhat shiddat ki garmi par rahi hai, khilaariyoun nay apnay saron per toliyey rakhey hue hain, khilaariyoun kay paas paani khatam hogaya hai, aur mazeed paani aa raha hai.

Commentator 2: Jee haan jaisey kay aap dekh rahey hain kay khilaariyoun kay paas eik liter ki botal mein paani khatam hogaya hai to aap is sey garmi ki shiddat ka andaaza laga saktey hain.

Scene 2

Commentator 1: Over khatam hua, [XYZ] runs aur [XYZ] team kay [XYZ] khilaadi out hue hain (no insight on the bowlers or batsmen other than reading the scorecards).

Commentator 2: Tamashayyion mein garmi ki lehar dor rahi hai.

Scene 3

Aamir Sohail (still whispering): Aapko yaad hai jub mein chief selector tha, 2002-2003 mein, to humnay [XYZ] khilaadi select kiya tha, unhon nay us saal khailay jaanay walay [XYZ] tournament mein shaandaar performance dikhaayi magar woh maujooda team mein select nahin ho paaye. (Lamenting on his gains and losses as a chief selector).

Commentator 2: Jee haan aap bilkul theek keh rahey hain.

Scene 4

Commentator 1: Chatta Power-Play chal raha hai magar ab tak sirf chaar chaukay aur eik chakka lag chuka hai jiss sey aap andaaza laga saktey hain kay kitni tight bowling karwaayi hai Faislabad Wolves nay (obviously that's what the viewer would think if the scorecard would show runrate at 4-5 runs/over).

Commentator 2: Mid-on pichlay over mein upar tha, ab mid-on ko cover per bhaij diya hai aur mid-on neechey aagaya hai.

Five minutes feels like torture.

Anyone remembers Hockey commentary in Urdu?

hamaray saath Sami Ullah is waqt majood hain - jee Sami. Hassan kay paaoN per hockey lagnay k baaray mein aap ka kia khiyal hai?......

I never really understood the game at that time but recall this fun stuff and remember some of the names.
