So how are you people planning to spend Independence Day?

well...

After 9 years i am celebrating this day in Pakistan.will be having a pakistani nashta like nihari or halwa puree,watch pakistani films and shows on cable,drink lassiéchai few times.take a walk to the near market get omore
kulfi and like a true pakistani throw the wrapper on the street.have lunch something like pavay or chicken karahe with 2 rupay ki roti from tandoor thanks to khadam-e-ala punjab for sasti roti scheme.drive like a lahore,listening to Rasta FM88.8 Lahore traffic police radio station,where they tell how to follow rules and drive safely,zig zag,no line no lane,honking the horn like if you stop honking u might die....no wait...definately die.
hay that building is nicely decorated..wait let me take a picture,i dont care if i am blocking the road...so what if an ambulance is also stuck in the jam....sshh! let me take my picture.come home make tang but i think tang is not pakistani so drink a btl of Rave(ready to drink rohafza or jam-e-shereen)or icecream sode from gourmet bakery.copy the pictures from the camera and post them on a pakistani community forum.dont forget to mix punjabi in captions,just to confuse BB and other CD fusers.
its 8 p.m lets go out and see what level of chichorpanNa my hamwatans got for this years celebrations....like tossing a lit firecracker in to a car full of girls and what not.
All that smoke from cars and bikes....mujhay tau bhook lag gaye hai...how about sindhi biryani or balochi saji for dinner and peshawari qahwa after dinnerÉ

i wish i had a bike today,so i could`ve installed the loudest moufler in it,and set on a mission to wakeup the koom jo kay kisi bohat zarrori kaam say soo rahi hai....maybe thats why i dont

I can't believe it - you've made me cry with this story of yours. What a time we used to have in Pakistan.
I remember all that chichora-pun on Mall Road on Aug 14th.

You know things weren't great at that time. But we had hope. and now we don't even have that.

last nite when i was buying the flag , two cops were decorating and mounting flags on their police patrol car,a group of bikers passes by and one of the guy yelled at the cops

That kind of talk is not helping us
we have lots of very good people in Pakistan,and only because of those Pakistan exists today even tornado after tornado of corruption.Like Dr. Asif in alama iqbal town who was at the earthquake struck region on 3rd day of the tragedy with his team of doctors and relief goods.He visits sawat frequently and helping the locals in rebuilding.he is also running free clinics and hospital in swat.He is not alone there is a whole team of God fearing doctors with him.

Ofcourse Pakistan is still standing strong (well kinda) because of such people. Most of us are still patriots.
Our main problem is, we don't do anything. We just complain and wait for others to make changes for us. A few weeks ago there was a businessman on TV complaining about strikes & all (and I totally understand his frustration) but I hated his comment when he said, "hamara kia laina daina. ju party bhi hakoomat karay. hamay tu apna business karnay dein". I mean come on.... everyone should participate and show interest in elections and the government.

like i say there should be another long march to islamabad and dharna at constitution ave. but this time let it be for inflation,power crisis,corruption, but they are keeping us bussy by nAt giving us phull lectricity and keep floating shoshay like musharaf pay muqadma,2 say zyada bachon pay tax,mpaémna caught stealing red handed,wakeel lagaying phainte to journalists in ....i say this is too much....sab ki chuti ka time aa gaya hai....jo kaam nahen karta us ko ghar bhaijny ka time aa gaya hai.

Seriously, I strongly support muqadmay on Musharaf. I mean we've to start from somewhere... so why not start now and punish those who've practically ruined the nation. I wish to get all the money back from that Shaukat Aziz as well. Atleast we're trying....
Maybe we get it right this time.....

why only musharaf and shortcut aziz,saab ko lapaito.... they all treated constitution like a ruff copy( one with pink pages) did soo many doodles that can not be undone.i say if they want to punish only musharaf ..iss say acha hai kisi ko saza na dou...

Ofcourse the whole team of bhoot & chuRailein must get punished. Musharaf & Shaukat Aziz couldn't have done it without the help of others. But even if we get these 2 in the court, and get some money back, some respect back.... I'll consider it a success. Because atleast we'll be going in a right direction.
We can't turn things around overnight. It has to be done one by one.

well yaha Canada may it was just any other regular day..!

see this is stupid.. our consulate used to have a small flag hoisting ceremony in the morning and at night time there used to be some entertainment for the public.. all free..!

but this time, they didnt do anything like this.. maybe its because 14Aug was on Friday, but still weekend peh kuch to hona chahiye tha naa..

on the other hand, I was with my bhanji..(sis's newborn baby girl)


DMD and Amabel, the problem is that we want to see change, but we are not upto it.. we want to see new things, but no one wants to actually DO it..!

gutter ko saaf har koi dekhna chahta hai.. par safayee koi nahee karay gaa..!

It is our duty to our country and countrymen to start doing something for it.. This country has given us so many things.. let us do something about it...
