This thread will serve as a brief yet a very useful tutorial not only on how to embed audio files from external links but resources to available external audio hosting sites which may not have a BBCode availble for.

Please, feel free to PM Admins & Mods for the inclusion of any other resources you may know of.


1. Imeem BBCode: ( www.imeem.com )

Free registration with imeem is mendatory in order to upload your files on imeem.

All the uploaded files can be embedded using imeem BB Code available on PakFuse.

Following are the steps for you to use after the uploading:

1. On Imeem website, click-play the audio you need to embed. It will look like this:


2. Above image has been manipulated to highlight the code section in a red box,where you will see a code similar to this:

3. Copy the code into a text editor, preferably the notepad

4. From the text editor, you'll grab the code after http://media.imeem.com/m/

It will be like this:




5. Embed the code using imeem BBCode as follows

6. Submit the thread, and it will play in your post as follows:





Remember:

1. imeem only uploads mp3s.
2. imeem is blocked in some of the middle east countries.

2. Sites other than imeem where audio files are directly streamed:



- If you have a link or you have uploaded an audio file on some other site which stream a direct file such as MP3, RA, RAM, WMA, WAV, etc., then, you can use the following tags:

Another Site similar to imeem:

http://www.esnips.com/

You can only Embed from esnips those audio files which are in MP3 format. No other format is currently supported from esnips.

Basically you will take the whole code after http://www.esnips.com/doc/ and embed it around the following esnips BBCode.

For example, if the URL of the audio file is: http://www.esnips.com/doc/410a1e18-b94e-490c-ad35-32bff7726fb6/surah-fatiha

Here will be the BBCode:

3. External sites where you can store your audio files

- You can upload your audio files on other available third party sites, so the audios can be directly downloaded into the hard disk or may be streamed. Some of such locations are:

- JustUpIt.com - File Share Hosting
- RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
- MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
- FileFactory - free file hosting
- 4shared.com - free file sharing and storage
- YouShare - Free File Hosting V1.5

etc etc.

Remember, Most of the sites mentioned above host your audio for only a designated period of time...

Alternatively, if you have your own webspace where you can upload your own audio files, you can host your audios and embed them on PakFuse using media tag.
